The conversion of an Arts and Crafts country house in the Alps into a 34-bedroom hotel with wellbeing at its heart. The concept drew inspiration from the Aesthetic movement, in colour, comfort, nature and a sense of freedom, derived from the building’s enigmatic commissioner, Lady Mary Portman. A much-loved destination for Germans and Austrians, we re-visited the public areas in 2017 to rationalise and elevate the guest experience.
